Startup Reykjavík was established in 2012 as a partnership between Arion Bank and Icelandic Startups. Arion Bank is the owner of Startup Reykjavík, and invests in the participating companies. Icelandic Startups facilitates the program. Our startups receive top notch mentorship from experienced entrepreneurs, VCs and angel investors, university faculty, and leading industry experts, who give them their insights, feedback and valuable connections. We run a 10 week long program in Reykjavik, Iceland once each year. We’re very selective on the ideas we get into our program. Selected companies or ideas get $16,000 in seed funding from Arion Bank. StartupReykjavik foundersalso get great perks such as free hosting and services, a nice place to work, ten weeks of intensive top-notch mentorship, and the chance to pitch to angel investors and venture capitalists at the end of the program.
